Karen Shaver

Karen Shaver, MC, LMFT

Therapist

Karen Shaver is an independently licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has worked with children and families in the Community Behavioral Health System and, prior to that, worked with victims of Domestic Violence. Her approach to therapy is strength-based, identifying the skills, supports, and strengths the client already has, before executing change. This fall she will begin working on a certification in trauma to more accurately identify, diagnose, and treat the effects of traumatic events.

A native of Minnesota, she came to Arizona in 1980 and has never left. She received her college degree from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA and later, a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, from the University of Phoenix.

I am grateful to be doing therapy in a setting that allows a faith component to the treatment. I believe it strengthens the client and the therapeutic process.
